Last month at the Glenpointe Marriott in New Jersey, McDonald’s New York Metro made available a Kitchen Department Manager’s Workshop for local managers of both corporately-owned and franchisee-owned restaurants. In attendance were more than 500 McDonald’s restaurant kitchen department managers and local independent owner/operators who participated in a series of activities and games all focused on showcasing the attributes of Gold Standard Products.
In addition to information about available tools and resources that can assist managers in driving capacity, Registered Dietician and Nutritionist Sandra Arévalo was present to speak about the food, ingredients and balanced, wholesome menu choices. Moreover, Ms. Arévalo discussed best practices for helping crew members successfully answer customer questions regarding the menu and guide them in making informed decisions that fit their nutritional needs.
“It’s up to the kitchen department managers to be knowledgeable about McDonald’s Gold Standard Quality so they are well informed about our ingredients, quality food and wholesome menu options. This is when our people become our best ambassadors,” said Lori Prymak, McDonald’s Regional Training Manager. “This experience will equip kitchen department managers with tools so as to help our crew inform guests about the food quality and the wholesome menu choices available,” she added.
