When McDonald’s Assistant Manager Jose Hernandez arrived at work this morning, the last thing he expected was to win a pair of tickets to Super Bowl XLIX. The surprise was part of an event today to celebrate Fort Lee’s McDonald’s being named Top 10 in Overall Customer Satisfaction* by McDonald’s USA. Hernandez and ten other top performing employees were entered into a random drawing to win prizes including XBOX One Entertainment Systems, Madden NFL 15 games, and a prize package for two to this year’s Super Bowl in Arizona.
“I can’t even explain how excited I am to be going to the Super Bowl, especially being a football fan,” said Hernandez, 28, a Union City resident who has been working with McDonald’s for four years. “It’s like a dream come true.”
McDonald’s Fort Lee owner Doug Damiano received an award from McDonald’s USA recognizing his restaurant’s achievement and praised his employees for their commitment to providing excellent customer service. Today’s event was part of McDonald’s ongoing commitment to recognize and celebrate its outstanding local employees. The program also featured giveways, DJ MarvLS, and an exclusive beatbox performance by 2014 “Amateur Night at the Apollo” Grand Prize Winner Sung Lee.
“We’re very proud and pleased to host this event today.” said Damiano. “We could not give the level of service that our customers expect without the help of our outstanding employees.”
Hosted by Ronald McDonald, today’s celebration was attended by local community leaders and elected officials, including:
- Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich
- New Jersey State Senator Loretta Weinberg
- New Jersey State Assemblyman Gordon Johnson
- Fort Lee Councilman Harvey Sohmer
