Last month, local McDonald’s owner Jessica Quintana hosted her second annual “Toy Drive” at her restaurant located on 375 Central Ave. in East Orange, NJ. The drive kicked off on December 20 at the East Orange McDonald’s restaurant, where half of the toys raised were donated, and concluded the following day at Ms. Quintana’s Jersey City restaurant, where the toys were distributed to families from the community. Approximately 1,300 toys were collected, surpassing the goal of 1,000.
Ms. Quintana’s annual toy drive was coordinated in collaboration with Toys For Tots and Staff Sergeant Brian Gomez from the United States Marine Corps. Children from the local community received toys including dolls, race cars, puzzles, and books among others. In addition, the children were given free Happy Meals® and met Santa Claus for a photo opportunity.
