Local McDonald’s franchisees took employees “out to the ballgame” on Tuesday night to honor some very special people.
As part of its first-ever “McDonald’s Employee Appreciation Night”, CitiField hosted a pre-game ceremony that celebrated the contributions of the company’s 30,000+ employees in the New York Tri-State area. Five hundred McDonald’s crew people, restaurant managers and franchisees attended the event, which took place on the eve of the Golden Arches’ iconic 60th anniversary.
The evening capped off two weeks of McDonald’s employee appreciation activities which included various in-store celebrations and an annual awards gala.
“Ray Kroc famously once said, ‘You’re only as good as the people you hire,’ which is a philosophy that my fellow franchisees and I continue to follow; even after six decades,” stated Paul Hendel, a McDonald’s franchisee and New York Tri-State Co-op President. “Tonight’s event allows us to celebrate Mr. Kroc’s incredible legacy in a way that he would be proud of: by recognizing the men and women who make the Golden Arches shine.”
