Actor and rapper MC Jin (The Man with the Iron Fists, 2 Fast 2 Furious) will encore as host of this summer’s highly-anticipated McDonald’s B-Boy Royale 3, New York City’s largest annual breakdance tournament. Jin, who came to prominence as an undefeated battle rapper on BET’s ‘106 & Park’, received unanimous acclaim for his performance at last year’s B-Boy Royale 2.
This year’s star-studded competition will feature two legends of the breaking world: Richard ‘Crazy Legs’ Colón, founding member of the Rocksteady Crew, serving as lead judge and Michael ‘Boogaloo Shrimp’ Chambers, star of Breakin’ and Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo, who will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. McDonald’s B-Boy Royale 3 takes place on August 27 at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $25 and on sale at www.McDonaldsBBoyRoyale.com. All proceeds from the event will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of the New York Tri-State Area.
“It’s an honor to be back and sharing the stage with some amazing talent and legendary b-boys,” said MC Jin. “B-Boy Royale is not only an incredible competition but also an important fundraiser for a terrific charity.”
“Jin did a phenomenal job last yearand we’re thrilled to welcome him back,” stated Paul Hendel, President of the McDonald’s New York Tri-State Co-Op, the event’s presenting sponsor. “He’s a marvelous talent and the perfect host for our biggest B-Boy Royale yet.”
