McDonald’s New York Tri-State and its local franchisees celebrated the third annual McDonald’s Employee Appreciation Night at Citi Field by taking their employees out to the ballpark. Over 400 restaurant crew, managers and franchisees gathered together to enjoy the New York Mets host the Washington Nationals. The annual event marks the end of a weeklong celebration to show appreciation to the 24,000+ employees in the region for their contributions and dedication to the Golden Arches.
During the pre-game ceremony, nine employees were chosen to represent McDonald’s, along with special guest Ronald McDonald, out of on the field. All nine participants are currently enrolled in Archways to Opportunity, the workforce education program McDonald’s created to support their employees on their educational journey. The program provides a pathway to a high school diploma and/or college degree, tuition assistance, access to advisors, and the opportunity to learn English. Currently more than 1,000 employees in the New York Metro region are enrolled in Archways.
