The World Camp, hosted in 40 countries annually, made its way to New York for the seventh time this year. Participants from all over the U.S. and abroad spent five days engaging in activities that geared at combating isolation, apathy and depression. The camp immersed its participants in a variety of programs including: cultural performances, music concerts, educational academies taught by professional companies and individuals; a 5K run, and a leadership speaker series from well-known figures such as California Highway Patrol’s Sgt. Kevin Briggs, the Guardian of the Golden Gate Bridge. These programs culminated in a nightly series of Mind Education lectures which address the problems the youth face today at its roots: the heart. These programs provide a foundation for the youths of today to become leaders of tomorrow by shifting everyone from focusing on outwardly changes to inwardly changes.
